Blizzard Shows Off Two

Blizzard is showing off two promising properties at E3 this week in L.A. - its online role-playing game World of Warcraft and its stealth action game StarCraft: Ghost. The beta version of World of Warcraft (which is currently being tested by thousands of users around the world) is available for hands-on play at the show at several locations. World of Warcraft lets players assume the roles of legendary Heroes and interact with thousands of other players online as they explore, adventure, and quest across a vast world inspired by the Warcraft game franchise. The game is nearing competition according to Blizzards president Mike Morhaime, and will be released later this year in several regions.

Blizzard also unveiled several new levels for StarCraft: Ghost," its tactical-action console game set in the StarCraft universe. For the first time show attendees have the chance to play the game on the PlayStation 2 and GameCube, in addition to the Xbox. Blizzard says that the hands-on E3 presentation shows off the gritty sci-fi universe in great detail and features notable advancements including new characters, weapons, and planetary settings. In the games environments, players will explore uncharted terrain and encounter menacing adversaries never before seen by followers of the StarCraft franchise.
